When I was little and was asked what I wanted to be when I grew up my answer was: An artist and a mother. I am grateful and blessed to be both and so much more. I have a degree in Textiles and Design from Colorado State University, USA and worked in the garment industry for a few years until I met my husband. Fuelling Designs started just after I married in 1986. My focus in the early years was on tailoring, teaching, sewing and clothing design.
I have two children and chose to stay home with them when they were young. I started quilting in the early 1980’s. I love everything about textiles and quilting and over the years it has consumed my interest. Quilting is a diverse medium that allows me to create and experiment and focus on my family.
I have a thirst for knowledge, and I love to share my knowledge and creativity with others.
I have been involved with many quilt organizations and shows and teach a variety of quilt related classes.
I am a quilt and textile historian and find inspiration from those who came before me. My quilts combine “art” with the traditional home making craft of quilting. I love the story that a quilt tells of the daily lives of people.

I am a professional longarm quilter and quilted for hire for over 15 years. I believe my job as a quilter is to bring the quilt to life.
I have received many awards for quilts that I have made as well as the longarm quilting I have done on customers’ quilts.
In 2018 I stepped away from doing client quilting and now focus on bringing my quilts to the world.

Another layer of my life is that I have an energetic healing practice, and I incorporate my healing skills to layer and infuse my artwork at many levels. For me everything filters through the divine and I use my artistic talents to manifest that. I have had my art quilts in galleries, and one person quilt shows in a variety of venues.
I tend to be a woman of passion and give my heart and soul to that which I focus on. Balance of my mind, body and spirit allows me to use my passion in healthy ways.

My quilts and textiles are hand crafted. Each piece is one-of-a-kind. I make the items from beginning to end. When I am upcycling vintage linens I incorporate pieces of the past into quilts, wearable art or unique textiles. I am always aware of the work and lives of the people who came before me. My intention is to have the pieces live on and be appreciated.
My quilts are meant to be used and loved. The tactile connection is always a part of the purpose of what I create. We need art in our lives. It softens the rough edges and keeps humanity connected.
I see my creations going out into the world bringing love, comfort, beauty, joy, hope and so much more to those whose lives they touch.

What do I value most of all?
