Quilt Tops Ready To Quilt
I have talked about and shown details of some of the quilts I am currently making. Completing a quilt top and having it ready to be quilted with its backing and binding is a huge milestone in the progression of making a quilt. A quilt is not finished until it is quilted, bound and labeled. I must remind myself of that from time to time.
For this blog I wanted to take you into my finished quilt tops storage. It feels a bit like a confession to let you see just how prolific a quilter I am. Check out these videos...
Bed size quilts are King, California King, Queen, Full/Double and Twin. The other sizes I make are throw, baby, wall and toppers. I recently donated 16 quilt tops in a variety of bed sizes to a local humanitarian center that will quilt or tie the tops to finish them. It feels good to move them towards completion and knowing they will go to people who will use them.
As I was filming for this blog I did a rough count of my tops. I am hovering around 120. (It has been higher). It is an outrageous amount. I keep steadily quilting the tops and bringing them to completion. The positive is that there will always be new quilts to add to the shop and to give away. I must create and so I do. I have a photo session the end of May. There will be a launch in June of 11 new quilts. Meanwhile I think I need to load another quilt on the long arm and get quilting.
